I just got word my boys in Iraq could use some prayers and some positive thoughts. They are due home soon and they have been running into a bit of trouble. If you can, remember them today and wish for them a safe return home to their families and loved ones.
You've got some great shots there, Hope. I feel for the soldiers in these wars, adn fear that they are going to come back and be treated similar to the Vietnam vetrans if recalled under the wrong conditions. Lets hope it all works out for the best, both at war, and when they return home.
First and foremost I wish Kilo Company a safe and speedy return trip home! They have earned it as always!

These Marines in these photos are fighting "The Global War on Terrorism" (GWOT for short). You are right, if we are pulled out under the wrong conditions it will not only affect all of us for many different reasons, it will leave a much bigger "mess" for the next generation of warriors to clean up!
>"Ahhhh....you boys be careful and come back home safe...
>We're praying for you all over the place. Got you covered.
>...go get those bad dudes!!"
Thank you for your prayers and thoughts. And I will get one for you the next time I can!!!

I see every day what is at stake in this war. This is my 8th deployment. We have invested much time and energy into our and the Iraqis endeavors for peace and stability here. I am very proud of my Marine Corps and the caliber of men and women it takes to do the job we are doing here that doesn't get reported back there.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers where ever they may come from Texas or not.
West is a very thorough historian and descriptive writer. Being the civilian I am, I tend to use a map and keep a short, ongoing set of notes to manage the military vernacular, but it's very worth it if you want to understand what really happened at the beginning of the Iraqi war and what transpired there and here politically since which brings us to this point.
One Marine's View
Major Pain is an active duty Marine officer dedicated to his Marines and their well being. Another great blog read.
Former Marine, outstanding patriot, husband, father. Good read!
