West is a very thorough historian and descriptive writer. Being the civilian I am, I tend to use a map and keep a short, ongoing set of notes to manage the military vernacular, but it's very worth it if you want to understand what really happened at the beginning of the Iraqi war and what transpired there and here politically since which brings us to this point.

The Canadians have a great tradition of writing ballads. The style of this song, "A Pittance of Time", sounds very similar to Stan Rogers song, "The Jeannie C" written in 1978. Both good!
